I grew up in Gardena, California and now reside in Torrance. I graduated from Gardena High School and El Camino College for Early Childhood Education.  I have worked at Sunflower Preschool for over 25 years, starting right out of high school as an afternoon aide on the playground.  After earning enough ECC units, I became the teacher for the 3 1/2 year old class.  Since then I have taught each class at Sunflower.  I have been the Director for at least 10 of my 25 years at Sunflower.  I am married to my best friend, we have a son, daughter and one grand-daughter.  I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, building 1000+ piece jigsaw puzzles, and baking.

I grew up in Los Angeles, California.  I graduated from Fairfax High then moved to Louisana where I attended Grambling University.  I came home to California and attended Santa Monica College and received my Early Childhood Education certification from Los Angeles Southwest College.  I recently completed additional training taking Early Childhood Education classes at UCLA Extension.  I enjoy hiking, reading, painting and more than anything spending time with my husband of almost 20 years and my daughters and step-son.  My motto is:”It takes a village to raise our children and we as role models must always be positive in mind and spirit.”

Ms. Sheila Bullard – TeacherSheila

I grew up in Southern California.  I went to Hollywood High and did my college education at various Los Angeles colleges.  I am married with 3 children.  I enjoy bike riding and word search puzzles.

Ms. Verna Stafford – TeacherVerna

I was born in Hawaii but grew up in Kentucky and Los Angeles, CA.  I attended El Camino  College and majored in Early Childhood Education.  Within 2 years I earned enough units to become a teacher.  I enjoy hiking, crocheting and spending time with my family.  I have 2 wonderful boys.

I grew up in Mexico and came to the United States at the age of 13 years old.  I went to Palms Jr. High and Alexander Hamilton High School in Culver City.  I am married with a son and daughter.  I enjoy talks with my daughter, going for walks, cooking and baking.  I love being around children.

I am from San Diego, California and graduated high school in 2012 in Murrieta, California. I’m currently attending El Camino Community College, majoring in child development. I have always loved being around children and my goal is to become a teacher. I’m excited everyday I get to go to my job because it does not feel like work. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and I also love going to new places and gaining new experiences.
